All siblings irrespective of age/ stage are booked into lesson times which run concurrently.

Bookings for multiple series may also be done in advance.

Choosing the right class/es for your child/children

Please read the information below in conjunction with the Assessment of Ability information to help you determine the appropriate class type/s for your child/ren.

WHEN DETERMINING YOUR CHILD'S/REN'S STAGE/S STATE OF THE CURRENT STAGE THEY HAVE ATTAINED AND NOT WHAT STAGE THEY WILL BE ATTEMPTING NEXT.

CLASSES FOR PRE-PRIMARY AGED CHILDREN

PRIVATE 20 MINUTE CLASSES FOR AGES 2-5 YO CHILDREN WITH PARENT ASSISTANCE IF REQUIRED (Class Code: PTC)

WHO FOR: any 2-5 YO aged child who may be apprehensive in the early stages of a series.
WHERE CONDUCTED: in the dedicated roped off section of the main pool
LESSON DURATION: 20 minutes
CLASS SIZE: one child per teacher
FEE: $199 per ten day series

PRIVATE 20 MINUTE CLASSES FOR AGES 2-5 YO CHILDREN (Class Code: (TC)

WHO FOR: any pre-primary aged child who is confident to ‘go it alone’ with a Southern Cross-Swimstruct teacher.
WHERE CONDUCTED: in the dedicated roped off section of the main pool
LESSON DURATION: 20 minutes
CLASS SIZE: one child per teacher
FEE: $199 per ten day series

PRIVATE 30 MINUTE CLASSES FOR CHILDREN OF ALL AGES

PRIVATE CLASSES FOR CHILDREN OF ALL AGES (Class Code: X1)

WHO FOR: pre school age who might benefit from a longer period of instruction and school aged children with special needs including those who are yet unable to swim confidently in deep water.
LESSON DURATION: 30 minutes
CLASS SIZE: one child per teacher
FEE: $299 per ten day series

GROUP CLASSES FOR SCHOOL-AGE CHILDREN ONLY

GROUP CLASS OF TWO CHILDREN PER TEACHER (Class Code: X2)

WHO FOR: school age children who are able to swim strongly in deep water who are able to swim between 6- 12 metres Freestyle without stoppages and able to swim about that distance in a chosen form of Back Stroke.

Note: many Junior primary children fit this category.
LESSON DURATION: 30 MINUTES
CLASS SIZE: Two children per teacher
Fee: $199 per ten-day series

GROUP CLASS OF THREE CHILDREN PER TEACHER (Class Code: X3)

WHO FOR: school age children who are able to swim about 25m Freestyle without stoppages and for about the same distance in a chosen form of Back Stroke.

Note: many mid primary and some upper primary children are at this level of competence.
LESSON DURATION: 30 minutes
CLASS SIZE: Three children per teacher
Fees: $135 per ten-day series

GROUP CLASS OF FOUR CHILDREN PER TEACHER (Class Code: G4)

WHO FOR: School age children who and who are able to swim 50m Freestyle without stoppages and for about the same distance in a chosen form of Back Stroke

Note: some junior primary and many upper primary children are at this level of competence
LESSON DURATION: 40 minutes
CLASS SIZE: Four children per teacher
Fees: $135 per ten-day series

GROUP CLASS OF FIVE CHILDREN PER TEACHER (Class Code: G5)

WHO FOR: School age children who are able to swim about 50m Freestyle, Breast Stroke, Survival Back Stroke and Back Stroke without stoppages.

Note: some mid primary and many upper primary children are at this level of competence.
LESSON DURATION: 40 minutes
CLASS SIZE: Five children per teacher
Fees: $135 per ten-day series

GROUP CLASS OF SIX CHILDREN PER TEACHER (Class Code: G6)

WHO FOR: School age children who are able to swim between 100m 200 m in each of Freestyle, Breast Stroke, Back Stroke and Survival Back Stroke without stoppages and who have been introduced to the Butterfly Stroke and Side Strokes.

Note: some mid primary and many upper primary children are at this level of competence.
LESSON DURATION: 40 minutes
CLASS SIZE: Six children per teacher
Fees: $135 per ten-day series

TRAINING GROUPS FOR PROFICIENT SWIMMERS

'ALL STROKES TRAINING GROUP' (CLASS Code: ASTG)

WHO FOR: Children who have attained the Southern Cross-Swimstruct Stage 10 Certificate or its equivalent and who are able to swim a total of 1000 metres proficiently in each of Freestyle, Breast Stroke, Back Stroke, Survival Backstroke and Side Stroke and who have been introduced to the Butterfly Stroke.
AIMS OF THE PROGRAM: to further develop all strokes including the Survival and competition strokes and to work candidates over 1200 metres. Their best recorded time for the distance is measured against a table of ‘Standard Times’ to indicate what standard of proficiency the candidate has achieved.
LESSON DURATION: 60 minutes
CLASS SIZE: Up to eight children per teacher
FEES: $135 per ten-day series.

'SWIM FAST' TRAINING GROUP (Class Code: SFTG)

WHO FOR: Children who have attained the Southern Cross-Swimstruct Stage 10 Certificate or its equivalent and who are able to swim a total of 1000 metres proficiently in each of Freestyle, Breast Stroke, Back Stroke and who have been introduced to the Butterfly Stroke.
AIMS OF THE PROGRAM: to further develop the competition strokes and to work candidates over 1200 metres.
The candidate’s best times over 50 metres in each strokes are also recorded over 50 metres and the aggregate is measured against a table of Standard Times to indicate what standard of proficiency the candidate has achieved.
LESSON DURATION: 60 minutes
CLASS SIZE: Up to eight children per teacher
FEES: $135 per ten-day series.

SPRINGBOARD DIVING (Class Code: SD)

WHO FOR: beginners as well as those with previous experience. Candidates should be of school age and be able to swim strongly in deep water.
LESSON DURATION: 40 minutes
CLASS SIZE: up to five children per teacher
FEE: $135 per ten-day series

ADULT CLASSES (Class Code: A)

WHO FOR: any adult requiring personalised teaching for whatever reason.
LESSON DURATION: 30 minutes
CLASS SIZE: one adult per teacher
FEE: $299 per ten-day series
